Soda Glass House
Glasswork
Soda Glass House is a design studio founded by Alessia Arregui and Jon Watanabe in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Working primarily in hand-blown glass, the studio reinterprets centuries-old tools and techniques to create distinctive vessels and objects that pair vibrant colors with neutral textures and sculptural forms. Specializing in the use of antique optic molds, the studio creates luminous objects that interact with light and bring a subtle sense of presence to the spaces they inhabit. Soda Glass House takes an expansive, hands-on approach to glassmaking, designing and fabricating its own energy-efficient electric melting furnace, hand-forged glassworking tools, and custom 3D-rendered molds. Drawing from the rich histories of Italian Modernism and late Roman glass, the studio brings together historical glassmaking traditions and custom-designed tools to explore new possibilities in form and material.
