Abbey Panneck
Abbey Panneck is a designer and maker working at the intersection of architecture, material, and light. Born and raised in the Arkansas Delta, she earned a Bachelor of Architecture from the Fay Jones School before relocating to Philadelphia. Her background as a furniture fabricator and woodshop supervisor fostered a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, material exploration, and making by hand. As the founder and designer of Scan Lamp, Abbey transforms fragments of the urban environment into illuminated objects. Using a portable scanner, she documents textures and moments of human presence throughout the cities she visits, translating these collected impressions into lamp shades printed on handmade paper. No two lamps are the same or represent a city in the same way, making each piece a unique reflection of its origin.
